The Art

Whitework

Whitework examines white women’s roles in the establishment and maintenance of white supremacy. Using white on white embroidery techniques and both wearable and home objects the stories of how white supremacy functions in our lives reveals itself.  Ongoing series began in 2015.

Sometimes It's Hard To Be A Woman

Taking influence from Tammy Wynette’s “Stand by your Man” this installation addresses issues of domestic violence. The work is disquieting yet romantic and tells of the more subtle ways abusive relationships can eat away at you.

The Self Portraits

This series began in 2013 and continues today. Through my own image I explore personal yet universal issues like trauma, identity, depression, femininity and belonging.

The Love Story

Beginning in 2016 this project cronicles the evolution of my relationship. Examining highs and lows and the uneventful middles through art deco-esque embroidered illustrations. Eventually this series will be presented in "book" form.
